My dad gave me my first camera when I was thirteen, and I’ve been behind one ever since. When I decided to learn product photography, I offered to assist local photographers for free. They all said no. It hurt my confidence, but I kept going. Since then I’ve been hired three times over to build product studios inside companies from scratch, spent ten years shooting high-volume commercial work at DaySpring, and today I’m a graphic designer and product photographer for a Christian gift company. My images have appeared on national magazine covers and on Walmart.com, Hormel.com, and That’s thirty-plus years with a camera, and more than twenty of them in product photography.
I learned all of this from books and trial and error, and I’m passing it on to you, mistakes included. My goal is to be the starting point I never had.
